CLOUD COMPUTING SESSION @ ST. ANTHONY'S COLLEGE
On 16th April 2025 A session on cloud computing was organized in St Anthony’s College by the department of computer application. The Program was planned and executed by Prof. Sneha, Prof Balkhis and Prof Divya shree B L. The program was complied by Charanya from final year BCA.The sole purpose of the program was to enlighten students about the evolving landscape of cloud technology and the career perspective of it. Then the program begin with the welcoming the guests and the resource person, after that introduction about the resource person’s profile was read by Rakshitha from final year BCA. The session commenced with the resource person offering a detailed introduction to cloud computing. He explained that cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of computing services such as servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and analytics over the internet. Following the introduction, the speaker delved into the various types of cloud computing services.He elaborated on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), which provides virtualized computing resources over the internet; Platform as a Service (PaaS), offering hardware and software tools for application development; and Software as a Service (SaaS), delivering software applications over the internet on a subscription basis. The discussion then transitioned to the deployment models of cloud computing. The resource person explained the distinctions between public, private, and hybrid clouds. To enhance understanding, the speaker utilized a whiteboard to illustrate cloud architecture, demonstrating how various components interact within the cloud environment. This visual aid facilitated a clearer comprehension of complex concepts, enabling participants to grasp the intricacies of cloud infrastructure and services. Drawing from his experience with Microsoft Azure, the resource person provided a step-by-step guide on deploying applications on the platform. He demonstrated how to create an Azure account, set up a resource group, deploy applications using Azure App Service, and utilize it. Then the Vote of Thanks was rendered by Stephia K from 2nd year BCA. The session offered a comprehensive overview of cloud computing, from foundational concepts to practical application deployment.

SEMINAR ON CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS @ ST.ANTHONY’S COLLEGE

The VIDWAAN committee, in association with IQAC, organized a seminar on the topic “Civil Services Exams” on 11th April,2025 at 11:00 AM at Pace Bene Hall, St. Anthony’s College. The objective of the seminar was to provide students with insights and guidance about the Civil Services Examination, its structure, preparation strategies, and the significance of a career in civil services. The session was graced by the presence of Commander B.N. Ravi Kiran, Deputy Office In-charge Naval Detachment, Bangalore, who served as the resource person. As a Navy Captain with extensive experience and knowledge, he shared valuable information about the role of civil services in nation-building and motivated students to pursue a career in public service. He also shared personal anecdotes and practical tips for exam preparation, time management, and maintaining motivation throughout the journey. The seminar was attended by students and faculty members across various departments. It was an interactive session where students actively participated and clarified their queries regarding eligibility, exam patterns, and career prospects in the civil services. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, management, and organizing committee for making the event a great success. St. Anthony’s College-Wellness Checkup Drive
“You can’t enjoy wealth if you are not in good health.”
Good health is central to human happiness and well-being. It contributes significantly to prosperity, wealth, and even economic progress. Health is the foundation that enables a person to perform daily life tasks effectively and efficiently. Health consciousness is especially important in the lives of students, as it helps them improve and preserve their well-being, avoid illness, and reduce risky behaviors. Recognizing the importance of good health, the NSS Unit, Women Cell, and Red Cross Unit of St. Anthony's College, Bangalore, organized a Health Checkup Drive in collaboration with Narayana Hrudayalaya on the occasion of World Health Day, held on 9th April 2025 at Pace Bene Hall. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Joy Dsouza, Principal of St. Anthony's College, who emphasized the importance of health in our lives and encouraged students and staff to make the best use of the available facilities. The team from Narayana Hrudayalaya conducted comprehensive health checkups for both students and staff. The checkup included Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement, Random Blood Sugar Test, Electrocardiogram (ECG), and Doctor Consultation. A total of 38 teaching and non-teaching staff members and 63 students availed themselves of these services, consulting with the doctor and receiving personalized health advice based on their reports. Prof. Balkhis (NSS Coordinator), Prof. Molly Dsouza (Women Cell Coordinator), and Prof. Leelavathi Chivate (Red Cross Unit Coordinator) played key roles in the smooth and successful execution of the program. As a token of appreciation, Rev. Fr. Robin Victor Dsouza presented a memento to Dr. Promod, General Physician, thanking him for his valuable service. The event was further supported by enthusiastic participation and leadership from NSS volunteers, Women Cell representatives, and Red Cross volunteers, who assisted the medical team throughout the checkup process.

INNOVATE 2025: ST. ANTHONY’S COLLEGE
Innovation and profitability are the keys for any successful business idea. To explore more such innovative business ideas, the department of commerce with IQAC organized a competition (INNOVATE 2025 (New startup ideas) to give an opportunity for the students cum future entrepreneurs to explore their creative business ideas. Today's students are the future business minds or entrepreneurs who can rule the business world. To explore their ideas and to enhance their business skills and ideas this competition was a good platform. The event was organized on 22nd of march 2025 Saturday at 11.00 am. The number of teams participating in the competition were 9 teams which included students from B. Com, BBA and BCA. The judges of the day were Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Preetham Mendonca. The program went on very well with all the presentations from our enthusiastic participants and the excitement of the audience. Each team had come up with unique and sustainable business ideas. There was a lot of creativity and thought given regarding sustainability. Few of the business ideas were really impressive as they came up with the ideas which not only promoted sustainability but also gave a solution to reduce the plastic and also these business ideas would help to reduce the pollution and help in ecological balance.

Session on Gender Equality: St. Anthony’s College
Young people of all genders play a vital role in the development process and nation-building. Recognizing the importance of gender equality is crucial for addressing gender disparities, inequality, and fostering a safe and inclusive society for all. With this objective in mind, the Women Cell organized a session on 19th March 2025 at Pace Bene Hall, St. Anthony's College, Bangalore. The session commenced with an address by Rev. Fr. Joy, Principal of St. Anthony's College, who emphasized the significance of understanding and advocating for gender equality. Ms. Agatha, the resource person, delivered an informative talk on the concept of gender equality, highlighting its importance and discussing various forms of gender-based discrimination and inequality. Through interactive activities, Ms. Agatha encouraged students to reflect on their perspectives and promote inclusive behavior. The session provided students with an opportunity to understand the impact of gender inequality and the importance of promoting inclusivity. Students expressed their gratitude for the organization of the session, appreciating the opportunity to learn about gender equality. Women Cell Coordinator Prof. Molly Dsouza and NSS Coordinator Prof. Balkhis contributed to the discussions and encouraged student participation. The program was anchored by Sufiya, a third-year BCom student. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Chaitanya, a first-year BCom student.

Insights into GST for management: St. Anthony’s College
"A single nation, a single market, a single tax—GST - the cornerstone of economic harmony."
On 12th March 2025, management committee CHANAKYA, organized a workshop on insights into GST for management students. Mr. B S Mylar (CA), BCom, LLB, FCA, DISA, was the resource person of the day who is a qualified CA in GST consultation. Detailed explaination on incidence of tax, tax payer were explained. The new concept of Zero-rated tax was introduced to the students. Real examples were quoted by the resource person to make students get clear with the concept of Central GST, State GST and Intergrated GST. The outcome of the program were Practical implications of GST are much needed for the graduates because theory in the text book syllabus and real time application differs. After this session the program outcome for the students were : The concept of levy was made clear. Types of GST – CGST, SGST, IGST, when and where it will be applicable was understood by the students. Incidence and liability of tax payer concept was touched. Students got an idea on the Types of forms available for GSTR (GST Returns) like ITR filing forms. Special system in GST of composite tax system and where is it applicable was cleared to the students. The coordinators for the session are Prof. Chandrika and Prof. Mahalakshmi D. It was a knowledge filled session for the stdents.

St. Anthony’s College-Industrial Visit

Practical exposure is crucial in bridging the gap between academic learning and the demands of the professional world. It equips students with the skills and confidence needed to navigate and excel in their chosen fields. An industrial visit along with study tour was arranged for our students to gain insight into practicality beyond theory. Industry generously accepted to provide an opportunity for our students to witness the manufacturing process. The industry visited was RENAULT NISSAN (RNIAPL), situated in CHENNAI, TAMILNADU. The company is into vast manufacturing of automobiles and into exports as well. Students got to know about the value of time and how each and every process is automated inside the shopfloor. The industry visit was clubbed with a study tour to Mamallapuram and Pondicherry. The visit was arranged on 15th Feb 2025 with 45 students accompanied by Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza, Prof. Mahalakshmi. D, Prof. Renuka .C and Prof. Diwakar.

Report On October 25, 2024, the Department of Kannada at Darshan College conducted an Essay Writing program in the college classroom. Coordinated by Dr. Manjula B., Head of the Kannada Department, and Prof. Indrani S. V., Kannada Lecturer, the event aimed to develop students' critical thinking, creativity, and writing skills. Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza graced the occasion, delivering an inspiring address on the importance of essay writing as a tool for intellectual and personal growth.

Report on GTT placement training
Placement cell in association with GTT Foundation a non-profit organization works and provides skills enhancement programs for the students, had organised a career guidance session for all the final year B.Com, BBA and BCA students. The session was conducted by GTTF trainer Mr. Damodaran. It was a 18 hours employability skills training session which was conducted from 17th October 2024 to 19th October 2024 from 9am to 4 pm each day.

Report on chart your course- career Guidance for aspiring charted Accountants
Placement cell had organised a career guidance session for those who are aspiring to become CA. The session was conducted by CAPS Foundation led by Mr. Chandrashekar Shetty Mundkur who is a registered Chartered Accountant. Mr. Shetty is an academician with 14 years of national and international qualifications and practising CA for more than 25 years. CAPS has produced more than 2500 CAs, 125 plus all India rankings including 1st rank thrice. It is an NGO spreading educational happiness for more than 15 years. With such a esteem institution and talented resource person the session was definitely very interesting one. The resource person gave full details about how to pursue CA along with the graduation and how they can manage the same with the help of their online CA course.

The NSS Day celebration commenced with a warm and enthusiastic welcome of our esteemed dignitaries Rev.Fr.Roshan Rosario Principal, St.Anthony’s PU College, Rev.Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal, St.Anthony’s College, NSS Program officer Prof. Balkhis ,NSS Asst co-ordinator Dr. Santhosh by the NSS Volunteers. The program began with the flag hoisting ceremony where NSS flag was hoisted in front of the college premises, symbolizing the spirit of nationalism and community service. Following the flag hosting ceremony, NSS volunteers sang the NSS anthem, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of community service and social responsibility. Independence Day celebration at Darshan Degree College on August 15, 2024
The 78th Independence Day celebration at St. Anthony's Degree College on August 15, 2024, was a proud occasion filled with patriotic fervor. Organized to honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters and promote national unity, the event witnessed active participation from NCC cadets, students, faculty, and esteemed guests, including the Principal, Director, and a distinguished guest of honor.

Orientation Program 24-25
The orientation program for the academic year 2024-2025 took place on August 5, 2024, in the seminar hall at Darshan College under the IQAC. Starting at 9:30 AM, it warmly welcomed the freshers, marking the beginning of their academic journey and encouraging them to explore their goals. The event was attended by 99 Commerce, 15 Management, and 71 Computer Application students. The main aim of the program was to familiarize students with the academic aspects of their courses and the college's rules and regulations.

ORIENTATION ON NPTEL COURSE-SWAYAM
“Theory ON 06/8/2024 AT 10.00AM at PACA BENE HALL an orientation program was held on NPTEL COURSES-SWAYAM by Mrs.Chandrika ,HOD of management. NPTEL is an acronym for National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning which is an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology .SWAYAM (meaning 'Self' in Sanskrit) is an acronym that stands for "Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds". All NPTEL online certification courses are SWAYAM courses too, and they are available on the SWAYAM platform.SWAYAM is a programme initiated by Government of India and designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. The objective of this effort is to take the best teaching learning resources to all.SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy. Students were made aware of the courses available and were encouraged to join the courses.

Industrial Visit: Darhsan College

As learning is not confined to the classroom alone, practical knowledge is deemed essential. An industrial visit was organized for Bachelor of Business Administration students to provide insights beyond theoretical learning. Several industries graciously offered their facilities for this purpose. The first visit was to Featherlite, located in Hejjala, Bangalore, which specializes in extensive manufacturing of furniture and sheet metals for corporate use. This visit provided students with a firsthand experience of the entire production process involved in achieving desired furniture outcomes. Following this, students visited Canara Paper Packaging in Hegganahalli, Bangalore. Here, they gained valuable insights into the manufacturing of carton boxes with minimal investment in raw materials. The visit took place on June 22, 2024, with 41 students accompanied by Professors Mahalakshmi and Prof. Renuka C.

Vibrant Week at Darshan College
Color plays a pivotal role in our daily lives, shaping the atmosphere and energy of any environment. It is a powerful element that influences our experiences uniquely. Recently, Darshan College's cultural committee organized the Vibrant Week from June 10th to June 15th. Throughout the week, students were encouraged to dress according to a designated color code — green, red, blue, yellow, black, and pink — assigned for each day from Monday to Saturday. The entire college enthusiastically participated in this week-long celebration, leaving a profound impact and creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved. The sight of students adorned in vibrant colors throughout the campus added to the festive spirit, reflecting in their gleaming faces and heightened enthusiasm.The success of this event was a testament to the thoughtful planning and dedication of the Principal, Management, and the organizing committee. National Seminar on “Recent Trends in Commerce Management and Computer Science” at Darshan College
The department of Commerce, Management & Computer Sciences organised One days national level seminar on “Recent Trends in Commerce, Management & Computer Sciences” on 23rd May 2024 under INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL(IQAC). A research conference is an opportunity for professionals and students to present research findings to gain experience in their respective streams, receive valuable inputs about how to strengthen their work, and disseminate exciting and cutting-edge findings from their field of study. The aim of the seminar was to bring together academicians, educators and students in Subject to hold open discussion on the Latest Trends in Commerce, Management & Computer sciences. The National Conference on “Recent Trends in Commerce, Management & Computer Sciences” – has been designed to create a Platform for Researchers across the nation to showcase their Research Potentials through their Research Work. The seminar was inaugurated in presence of Rev. Fr Robin Victor D’Souza, Director of St Anthony’s Institution and Rev. Fr Joy D’Souza Principal of Darshan College, and the resource persons of the seminar Prof. Amaranath R and Prof. Radhika J. The dignitaries were welcomed by Gunashree of VI Sem BCOM. SEMINAR ON STOCK MARKET AT DARSHAN COLLEGE
On May 13th, 2024, the Entrepreneurship and Fine Arts Club, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a Student Development Programme (SDP) on the fundamentals of the stock market at Darshan College. Dr. Sujakumar S., Principal of Adharsha Vidya Kendra College, graced the event as the esteemed chief guest. In his address, he elucidated on the intricacies of the stock market and provided valuable insights on investment strategies. The students of Darshan College actively engaged in the seminar, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how the stock market operates. The seminar garnered further prestige with the presence of our Director, Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, and the Principal of Darshan College, Rev. Fr. Joy Wilson D’Souza. Their words of wisdom not only enlightened the attendees but also inspired them to consider investing in the stock market as a viable option for financial growth. Recognizing the significance of equipping students with knowledge about financial literacy and investment opportunities, the Entrepreneurship and Fine Arts Club, in collaboration with IQAC, took the commendable initiative to organize this seminar. REPORT ON TREKKING CAMP: 3KAR BN: DARSHAN COLLEGE
The NCC Department orchestrated a "One Day Trekking Camp" in Tumkuru on April 13, 2024, fostering an invigorating and positive atmosphere where cadets could cultivate confidence and bolster self-esteem. Twenty-four cadets, accompanied by an ANO (Associate NCC Officer), enthusiastically participated in this adventure. Embarking from the college premises at 7:00 a.m. via college bus, the cadets indulged in singing and dancing during the journey. Upon reaching Channarayana Durga village at 9:45 a.m., they relished a picturesque breakfast amidst the village scenery. To guide and inspire the cadets, NCC seniors Mr. Keerthi, Mr. Pasha, and volunteers from Tumkur youth hikers were present. Commencing at 10:15 a.m., the trek commenced from the foothills, leading to the initial level of the fort. The cadets embarked on the journey with fervor, traversing the primary streets of Channarayana Durga village. Channarayana Durga, a captivating day trek, offered stunning vistas and an exhilarating hiking experience for the cadets, with rock formations resembling cracks showcasing geological wonders. Amidst the ascent, the cadets captured memories through photographs and reveled in the fort's panoramic views. Upon reaching the summit, they beheld other forts and hills in the distance. Descending, Mr. Keerthi provided guidance, sharing his NCC experiences and imparting valuable life lessons to the cadets. The trek concluded at 1:30 p.m., leaving behind cherished memories. Following a refreshing break, the cadets convened for lunch at 2:00 p.m. near Sri Bailanjaneya Swami Temple. Senior volunteers then invigorated the cadets with engaging activities. At 3:00 p.m., an impromptu visit to "Naamadha Chilume" ensued, sparking excitement among the cadets upon encountering wild animals at the entrance. They explored the spiritual site before engaging in a feedback session led by Mr. Keerthi, where they shared their trekking experiences. The day culminated with a group photo at Naamadha Chilume, marking the end of a memorable expedition.

Alumni serve as the lifeblood of any esteemed institution, forming vital connections between the corporate world and academia. On April 6th, 2024, "INSPIRE 2024" kicked off with great enthusiasm, featuring esteemed dignitaries such as Mr. Uday Kumar Ramappa, HR at Elios Recruitment India Pvt Ltd; Mrs. Chaitra Santhosh, entrepreneur of CHAIS; Mrs. Kajal B, Credit Quality Assurance Lead at ANZ Bank; Mr. Maria John Peter, Manager TA, from Digikey Global Capability Centre; and Mrs. Divya Suvitha Mary, Assistant Court Secretary at the High Court of Karnataka, all under the coordination of Prof. Chandrika.The event was inaugurated by Director Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza and Assistant Director Rev. Fr. Roshan Rosario, welcoming guests from both the corporate and public sectors. These distinguished individuals shed light on the paramount importance of effective communication in today's landscape, discussing the myriad opportunities and setbacks that pave the path to success. They offered valuable suggestions for self-motivation and network building, while emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship, risk-taking, leadership, punctuality, discipline, and other critical factors.The guests provided a comprehensive overview of corporate responsibilities, organizational structures, and hierarchies, drawing upon their wealth of experience. Additionally, they shared anecdotes from their college days and discussed strategies for overcoming difficulties, enriching the session with valuable insights.

CHARACTERS DAY AT DARSHAN COLLEGE
On 5th April 2024 Characters day was organized in Darshan College by the Cultural Committee. The Program was planned and executed by Prof. Sneha and Prof. Molly D’souza and Daniel Kumar R from final year BBA. The program was complied by Lancy 3rd year BCA and Perius of 2nd BCOM.The sole purpose of the program was to bring out the hidden talent and creativity of the students. The program begun with invocation song led by Roshan and team and followed by lighting of the lamp by guests, guest were welcomed by Sowmya 1st year BBA and the program went on with dance and fashion show. The students participants as their favorite characters from their favorite movies and showcased their talent. The program was filled with enthusiasm and curiosity. Some dances stole the audience’s attention and left everyone amazed. The ramp walk left the audiences amazed by their creativity. Some performances took the audience back to the vintage era and gave nostalgia vibes. And the faculty fashion was outstanding. Director Rev. Fr. Robin Victor Dsouza addressed the students by enlightening them about the Characters Day and its importance. Winners of Dance Team and Fashion Show was announced by Rev.Fr. Joy Dsouza to motivate and encourage students. Winner of Fashion Show are 2nd year BCOM B, 2nd year BCA. Winners of Dance: 1st year BCA and 1st&2nd year BBA. Vote of Thanks was rendered by Yashaswini of 2nd year Bcom. The efforts and hard work of the planning team led to the success of this event. Overall it was a day to be remembered in Darshan College. The Anti-Ragging seminar at Darshan College
The Anti-Ragging Cell organized a seminar titled "Bullying, Ragging, and Its Emotional Trauma on Young Minds" on April 23, 2024, in the college auditorium. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Asha C.S, a Counselor and Psychiatrist from Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital. The discussion encompassed topics such as ragging, its effects, potential punishments, and health impacts. Emphasizing ragging as a criminal act, the event underscored the importance of fostering a friendly atmosphere between seniors and juniors. Victims of ragging often endure both physical and mental distress. Therefore, efforts to mitigate it should include raising awareness, providing counseling or mentorship, and implementing other safety measures on campus. All students pledged not to engage in ragging and not to tolerate being ragged.

Blood Donation Camp-2023 at Darshan College
“A blood donor is equal to a lifesaver. Saving a life won't cost anything. Go ahead and donate blood. Be a saviour just by donating your blood.”
Red Cross and NSS unit of Darshan College with the collaboration of Rashtrotthana Blood centre had organised blood donation camp on 16th of December 2023. The main objective of conducting blood donation camp is to educate and to make involve the students of Darshan college in social service activities and to come forward to save another life by donating blood which is precious gift one can give to others. A session was conducted by Rastrottana Blood Centre about the eligibility of donor, uses of blood donation, donor safety and application of advanced techniques and procedure of blood transfusion. 89 students of Darshan College voluntarily come forward to donate the blood and involved in sacred and noble act. Charts, slogans and short videos which give more awareness about the Blood Donation were displayed in the Seminar hall. Principal, Red Cross Coordinators, NSS Program Officer and volunteers actively took part for the success of the camp.

Basic Life Skill seminar at Darshan College
Red Cross and NSS unit of Darshan College in collaboration with Narayana Hrudayalaya had organized a session on “Basic Life Support Training” on 5th December 2023. Mr. Harish Life support trainer was the resource person for the program. BLS refers to the basic first aid procedures that can be used to keep someone alive until the emergency medical services can get to the scene. The most important skills are chest compressions to pump blood around the body and rescue breaths to provide oxygen. Resource person presented the steps of CPR for adults, children, and infants, use of an AED, airway clearance-BMV Technique in detail. He conducted the hands on session with the use of mannequin on CPR. It was interactive and informative session, where volunteers learnt proper steps to be followed for CPR, so that they can save a person on emergency situation.

Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) at Darshan College
November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. Therefore, on 27th November 2023 NSS Unit of Darshan College celebrated Constitution Day to promote constitutional values among students. Volunteers had prepared Colorful Charts which describes about Preamble, Features, Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties and Articles of Indian constitution. And some students gave speech on Amendments, History of Constitution and a short video of Making Constitution was displayed to make them understand the importance of constitution. Principal gave speech on importance of Constitution in India and impact on education. Later Dr. Santhosh explained to volunteers about the difference between India with constitution and prior to the adoption of constitution and concluded that Indian constitution makes citizens to live better life in social, economic, republic, justice ,political every aspects of life. Then NSS program officer took the Lead for Preamble Reading followed by all. The program was concluded with the National Anthem.

Seminar on Research Methodology and Paper Presentation at Darshan College

On 21st November 2023, the Department of Commerce, Management and Computer Science in association with IQAC had organized one-day seminar on Research Methodology and Paper Presentation for students at Darshan College. Dr. Sowmya DN, HOD Dept. of Commerce and Management, Seshadripuram Academy Of Business Studies was the chief guest of the program. Dignitaries Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza Director of St. Anthony’s Institutions, Rev. Fr. Joy D’souza, Principal Darshan Collage and faculties were present for the program. The resource person conducted the session on Research and Paper presentation where she explained about how Conducting research, enhances a wide range of valuable skills, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills as they tackle research questions and analyze data. She briefed about the research and its objectives, methodology, quality of good research, research strategy and scope of conducting research. The primary purposes of basic research are documentation, discovery, interpretation, and the research and development (R&D) of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge. Paper presentation offers valuable feedback, networking opportunities, and visibility for research. The papers and presentations, technical sessions cover the latest trends, breakthroughs, and best practices in the industry. The three main purposes of research are Exploratory, Descriptive & Explanatory. Dignitaries encouraged the students to present research papers more and more so that they can contribute to academic growth by refining research and improving communication skills.

Kannada Rajyotsava at Darshan College
“Kannada – a language that unites millions and showcases the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka.”
Darshan College, organized the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration event on 11th November 2023. The programme began with a prayer song by the students. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, which signified the beginning of the event. After this, the state anthem was played. The Chief Guest of the day, Dr. Amarendra Setty R, was welcomed traditionally along with Director, Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Principal Fr. Joy D’ Souza, OFM Cap and Dr. Manjula B, HOD, Department of Kannada. Chief Guest Dr. Amarendra Setty R spoke about how Kannada as a language provides experiences and the importance of it as a highly structured language, while also stressing on how students must apply themselves in this beautiful language. Director Fr. Robin Victor D’zouza and Principal Fr. Joy D’ Souza spoke about what the language means to us, how we can possibly contribute to its upliftment and the necessity of language and society in education. The students spread the fragrance of Kannada language with their spectacular dance, singing and speech performance which left the audience spellbound. It was a closely contested event until the very end. The event generated a sense of pride in the minds of the students for being a part of a culture that is so rich and vibrant. Kannada Rajyotsava celebration received an overwhelming response in all its events and was a magnificent success.

Seminar on Personality Development and Menstrual Hygiene at Darshan College
Women’s & Anti Trafficking Cell in association with Red Cross and NSS unit of Darshan College organized a seminar on “Personality Development and Menstrual Hygiene” for female students on 4th November 2023. Ms. Sri Lakshmi Hegde, Image consultant and soft skill Trainer was the resource person for the program. She conducted the session on Personality Development and motivated students for continuous self-development which enables them to achieve individual goals, improve strengths and weaknesses, develop talents, and succeed in career. Next session conducted on Menstrual Hygiene where she gave importance and practices of menstrual hygiene for the well-being and dignity of individuals who menstruate and maintaining personal hygiene. Therefore, proper menstrual hygiene and correct perceptions and beliefs can protect the womenfolk from the suffering. The session was informative for the students.

ESPERANZA - 2023-24 AT DARSHAN COLLEGE
“A hundred new faces, but a million dreams” is what this occasion can be best described as welcoming these hundred odd bright faces to an uncharted ocean of knowledge. Every student eagerly awaits right from their time of admission for their most remarkable event of the college “ESPERANZA - 2023”. The 20th of October 2023 was a memorable day in the life of every fresher of the academic year 2023-2024 batch at DARSHAN COLLEGE, Bangalore - 59. The fresher’s day was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. Students were welcomed with so much of enthusiasm which was organized by the seniors. As a trend of the institute, the ESPERANZA began with the auspicious prayer to almighty. Which is considered as very sacred and symbol of prosperity? The program started with lamp lightening. The occasion was graced by the presence of Chief guest Rev. Fr. Anil D'Costa OFM Cap, Asst. Director Rev. Fr. Roshan Rosario, Principal Rev. Fr. Joy Wilson D’Souza, OFM Cap, UG Academic Coordinators, HOD’s and all faculty members. Chief guest Rev. Fr. Anil D'Costa OFM Cap motivated the students by his inspiring thoughts. The Principal Rev. Fr. Joy D’ Souza, OFM Cap, addressed the gathering by welcoming the students through his motivational speech. Freshers along with their seniors are involve in various Dance performances like singing, solo, Duo, Group dances, games. With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ESPERANZA - 2023 concluded with the National Anthem. Finally, at 12:00 P.M the program was ended distribute with sweets and lunch.

NSS Unit and Red Cross Unit for the academic year 2023-2024 : Darshan College
Darshan College inaugurated NSS Unit and Red Cross Unit for the academic year 2023-2024 on 19th October 2023. The Dignitaries : Chief Guest for the day is Ms. Supritha Chakkere, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Journalism, KIMSR, State NSS Best Volunteer Awardee, and the Guest of Honour is Ms. Janaki Mahesh Life Skill Trainer fom Dept. of Youth and Sports, Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal, Darshan college, NSS Program officer Mrs. Balkhis, NSS Asst co-ordinator Mr. Srinidhi Siddharth and Dr. Santhosh, Red Cross co-ordinators Dr. Bharathi P and Mrs. Molly D’Souza were present for the event. The NSS volunteers participated in the inauguration. NSS Student Secretary made a presentation on various NSS activities carried out in 2022-2023 to motivate the volunteers. Chief Guest gave an outline about various activities to be conducted such as Social Awareness, Orientation on Social and Health Issues, Education, Environment, Health, National Integration, Plastic Abolition, Campus Cleaning, Donating Blood, importance of Swami Vivekananda teachings for youth. Later there was Life skill Training session by Ms. Janaki Mahesh. All the volunteers took active participation and performed various tasks given for them. They learnt important skills to be adopted in their life. Later principal addressed the gathering with his enthusiastic speech, he encouraged the students to participate more and more for NSS activities which will render their service to the society one way or the other Volunteers were reminded on NSS Motto “NOT ME BUT YOU”. Volunteers understood the importance of NSS unit and they aimed that they will work diligently for the welfare of the society. The Program was concluded by NSS Anthem followed by National Anthem.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Darshan College
"Manpower without unity is not a strength unless it is harmonized and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power." National Unity Day known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in India is designated to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister, ”The Iron Man of India” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On 31stOctober NSS unit and NCC unit of Darshan College had organized Pledge Ceremony and Unity Run to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Program started at 10:45 AM. The essence of the day was highlighted by the respected Principal. Sardar Vallababhai Patel, an icon for National Unity was fondly remembered. Pledge Ceremony was held by the Honorable Director, where the gathering took pledge to protect unity,integrity and security of the nation. All NSS volunteers with pluck cards, saying slogans started the Unity Run with enthusiasm, patriotism and full strength. Dignitaries, NSS program officer and faculties also took part in the Unity Run.

Independence Day at Darshan College
Theme for this year's Independence Day celebration is “Nation First, Always First,” an integral part of the broader “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Celebration. The 77th Independence Day is a significant milestone for India. It is a time to reflect on the country’s journey since independence and to recommit to the values of freedom, democracy, and equality. It is also a time to celebrate the diversity and unity of the Indian nation. Darshan College celebrated the 77th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. This auspicious Independence Day program started with flag waving ceremony as a tribute to our motherland. Director, Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Asst. Director, Rev.Fr. Roshan Rosario, Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza, Principal Darshan College, Rev. Fr. Clement D’Souza, Academic Co-coordinator St. Anthony’s Institutions, Naib Subedar Narendra Kumar, Naib Subedar Sankar Singh and Associate NCC Officer Lt. Deepa. M, hoisted the national flag which was followed by the National Anthem. Everyone saluting the National flag created a Patriotic ambiance on the premises. Later there was march past Parade led by NCC Cadet. The colorful cultural program started with Dance performance on Patriotic songs, students delivered speech on freedom fighters who gave their lives and made great sacrifices to make India an Independent country. The program concluded by Director’s Speech followed by vote of thanks. All the students, faculty and staff were given sweets and snacks after the program.

Farewell to Final Year Students at Darshan College
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end”. Farewell program was organized for the final year students at Darshan College Auditorium, at 10:00 AM on 12th August 2023. The farewell function was presided over by the Director, Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Asst. Director Rv.Fr. Roshan Rosario, Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza, Principal Darshan College. The function began with the invocation song followed by welcoming the gathering. Juniors conducted dance performances, games, video clip to cherish final year student’s memories. Later there was Award distribution ceremony for Winners of Annual Cultural Fest Aura-2023 and Annual Sports meet Sportathon-2023. Awards were given for Best Volunteer of NSS Unit, Best Cadet of NCC Unit, Best sports person, centum scorers in examination. The special award Best Outgoing Student was given based on their excellence in examinations and participation in curricular and extracurricular activities. Final year students expressed their gratitude towards teachers, management and shared their views and experience about the college. The Principal wished good luck to the final year students for their future and encouraged them with his words of wisdom. The Director addressed the gathering with his motivational speech, where he explained how to update ourselves with knowledge and skill, to meet the requirement of industry, expecting the success of the students in each and every sphere of life. Then the program came to an end with Oath taking ceremony, followed by the declaration of Overall Champion trophy. Token of love and appreciation was given to the final year students. Program was concluded with vote of thanks and was followed by group photo session and refreshment.

Orientation program at Darshan College
Darshan College , Bangalore, organized an Orientation program for the newly admitted degree students at the Seminar Hall on 31st July 2023. The major objective of the program was to make the students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the College. The program was inaugurated with the prayer song followed by lighting the lamp. Darshan College welcomed the students with the global vision, noble mission and core values of the College. It was then taken over by the Heads of the various departments who gave an insight on the rules and regulations of the college, academic design of the first year B.Com, BBA, BCA degree courses, the University Examination pattern and about the different committees like NSS, NCC, Red cross and Cells like Women’s & Anti Human-trafficking Cell, Counseling Cell, Placement Cell, Anti ragging Cell and many more… to create awareness about the various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to help the students for their overall development. The Principal of Darshan College Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza, addressed the student about their their daily lives like curiosity to learn, positive attitude and general code of conduct and concluded the session by urging the students again to concentrate more on improving their skills to match that of a professional’s and to polish their understanding of the basic subjects to boost their knowledge. Job Fair at Darshan College
Darshan College organized a day long Job Fair on the 25th of July 2023. A Job Fair is an event in which employers, recruiters, and colleges provide an opportunity to potential employees. We believe that the responsibility of the institution is beyond giving the education to students to qualify their academics. We take additional responsibility to support them in making a right start of their career. In our desire to help the students Placement Cell of Darshan College organized a Job Fair in association with Magic Bus India Foundation on 25th July 2023 at our campus. At 10:00 o’clock, inauguration function was started with lighting the lamp by Director Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Principal Rev. Fr. Joy D’Souza,Mr. Joshua Daniel Senior Trainer Magic Bus India Foundation. After the inauguration function, Mr. Dinesh, Mr. Joshua Daniel conducted an Orientation session for the candidates. The companies which were invited to the fair, included HDB financial Service, Grass Root Pvt. Ltd, Tech Mahindra, Track Info India Services, TCT Hiring, OFX Trade Technologies, Muthoot Finance , Allesc Technologies, Mandovi Motors Pvt. Ltd, Axis Bank, Vibrant Technologies and many more organizations. This Job Fair was for all Commerce, Management and Computer Science graduates. Around 90 candidates turned up for this job fair, of which 70 were selected to the various companies that interviewed the candidates. College had provided all facilities to the industries for conducting their recruitment process. The rounds of recruitment were Aptitude test, Group Discussion, Personal Interviews, Technical Round etc.

“Anthonian Cup” at Darshan College
On 11th and 12th July, Department of Physical Education and Sports organized “Anthonian Cup” Inter- collegiate Kabaddi (men) and Cricket (men) Tournament at Darshan College. There were around 700 players from 60 esteemed degree colleges in and around Bengaluru. The program began with the formal inaugural function presided over by the Chief Guest Mr. K Venkatesh police inspector, Karnataka Lokayukta, Fr. Robin Victor D’souza, Director St. Anthony’s Institutions, Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal Darshan College. All players were exceptionally energetic and advocated sportsmanship in all the events. The first place for Cricket (Men) was secured by University College of Physical Education, Bangalore University and the runners up position was bagged by Darshan College. In Kabaddi match Sindhi College won first place, runners up position were held by GFGC Vijayanagar College for boys. To encourage the players with extraordinary performances and sportsman spirit, special appreciation was given. Best All-rounder Deepak from Darshan College, Best Raider Badal Singh from Sindhi College, Best Defender Prasanth from GFGC Vijay Nagar were declared for the Kabaddi tournament, Prem Kumar from Darshan College was awarded Best Al-rounder & Akarsh from Darshan College Best Bowler and Lokesh from UCPE College Best Batsman were declared for Cricket respectively. The cash prize of Rs.5000/- and a trophy awarded to the team who won I prize, a cash prize of Rs.2500/- and a trophy for II prize in the respective events.

“AURA 2023” Cultural Fest at Darshan College
“AURA 2023” Two days Cultural Fest was held at Drashan College on 14th and 15th July 2023. A cultural fest, also known as a cultural festival, is an event that celebrates and showcases the diverse cultural heritage and traditions of a community, region, or country. On First Day offstage events were conducted such as Best Leader, Rangoli, Poetry, Meme making, DIY, Start up, Pick and Debate, Mehendi designing, Graphic designing, pencil Sketching, Escape room, etc. Students actively participated in all the events to make this fest memorable one. Second Day program started with an inauguration by dignitaries Fr. Robin Victor D’souza, Director St. Anthony’s Institutions, Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal Darshan College and the Judges. Director in his address said: Our college's cultural event is not just an occasion to showcase our talents; it is a platform to unite us all in the spirit of togetherness and understanding. It is a time when we put aside our differences and come together to celebrate the beauty of our various cultural heritages. He further said that this event is the result of the hard work and dedication of our fellow students, faculty, and staff members. They have put in countless hours of planning and organizing to ensure that this fest becomes a memorable and enriching experience for each one of us. After the inauguration on stage events such as singing, dance, short movie, Mad Ads, Mime, Fashion Show etc were included for the event. At the end winners of both Off stage and On stage events were announced. Everybody enjoyed the cultural program and appreciated the organizers. It gave a delightful ending to the evening.

Staff Picnic at Darshan College
On the 08th of July 2023, St. Anthony’s Institutions, comprising of St. Anthony’s P.U. College and Darshan College management organized one day picnic for the college staff. The staff members were taken to “The Mango Mist Resort” for the day. All enjoyed the day at the resort with buffet breakfast, lunch and in the evening high tea. Everyone took part in the adventure games, boating, indoor games, outdoor games, swimming, rock climbing etc. It was wonderful experience together and all the enjoyed the day at the resort.

Anti Ragging Cell and Anti Sexual Harassment Cell at Darshan College
On 20th June 2023 Anti Ragging Cell and Anti Sexual Harassment Cell of Darshan College had conducted a program to create awareness about ragging and human trafficking. Mr. Byrappa S Sub Inspector and Ms.Ambika Sub Inspector, Kengeri Police Station were the resource persons of the program. Ragging is a crime which destroys physical and emotional confidence, it is an abuse, humiliation and harassment to new entrants. Human trafficking and sexual harassment are punishable crimes. Students were made known about the Anti ragging Helpline and the contact number of police was shared so that in any kind of ragging case in public or campus, students are free to contact the resource person. The event created an awareness among students about the law that existed in Indian Judiciary along with the sections and with the message to be responsible citizen of the country.

International Yoga Day at Darshan College
Physical Education Department, NSS Unit and NCC Unit of Darshan College Celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2023. “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is the theme for this year's International Yoga Day 2023, which beautifully captures our shared aspiration for “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.” A Few minutes of yoga during the day can be a great way to get rid of stress that accumulates daily, in both, body and mind. yoga postures , Pranayama and meditation are effective techniques to reduce stress. Physical education department along with Yoga trained students of our college took the initiative to guide our students about yoga postures, meditation and importance of meditation, all students along with staff actively participated in the programme and learned the importance of yoga and meditation.

Annual Athletics and Sports Meet at Darshan College
Physical Education Department of Darshan College had conducted Annual Athletics and Sports Meet- 2023 On 7th July. The program was presided by the Chief Guest Dr. Manjunath Physical Education Director GFGC Ramanagara, Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Director of St.Anthony’s Institutions, Fr.Joy D’Souza Principal Darshan College. The program started with the inaugural function and chief guest declared the opening of the Atheletics and the Sports Meet. Students actively participated in the games, there was tough competition between the participants in both the single and group events,there was equal participation from both the girls and boys. Individual games like running, relay,javelin throw, shot put, discus throw and group events like volleyball, throw ball, kabaddi, kho-kho,cricket, tug of war was conducted. At the end of the event winners were announced and felicitated with medals and certificates. All the participants were appreciated by the Director and Principal.

FRESHERS DAY at Darshan College
“Rise up, start fresh, see the bright opportunity in each and every journey”.
On the 10th of November 2022, Darshan College organized Fresher’s day for the 2022-2023 batch. Rev.Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Director of St. Anthony’s institutions presided over the ceremony along with Rev.Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal, HOD’s, staff members and the students. The ceremony began at 10 A.M. with inaugural song followed by Lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. Student representatives of first, second and final years took Oath for maintaining honesty, integrity in leading their respective classes. Second year students performed a dance with the theme “journey of students with colors”, followed by Skit performed by final year students with the theme “Importance of education”, followed by fun games. Rev.Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal to students about importance of education in life. Followed by the Motivational address by Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’souza. Program was concluded with vote of thanks followed by National Anthem and distribution of gifts to first year students.

Birthday of Fr. Joy D’sozua at Darshan College
On the 08th November 2022, Fr. Joy Wilson D’souza, Principal of Darshan College celebrated his birthday at Darshan College along with all the faculty members. All the faculty members along with the Management joined together at the seminar hall to wish Fr. Joy happy birthday and many returns of the day. Faculty members presented a short video of Fr. Joy followed by Cake cutting. All the faculty members joined together in singing a birthday song to the Principal followed by short address by Fr. Robin Victor D’souza. The function was compered by Prof. Sneha and the stage decoration and organizing of the short program was done by Prof. Chandrika, Prof. Tazeer and Prof. Balkhis. Fr. Joy D’souza thanked everyone for organizing the program.
