SCOPE OF BCA (BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION)

    The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program under Bangalore University is a three-year undergraduate degree course consisting of six semesters, designed to equip students with a thorough understanding and proficiency in computer applications, programming, and software development. It is especially tailored for individuals aiming to pursue a career in the IT and software sectors.

    National Education Policy (NEP) was implemented by Bangalore University in the academic year 2021-2022, which emphasis on Interdisciplinary Courses. During NEP Internship was introduced to the final year students to give exposure to the IT industry and enhance their programming skills.

    Bangalore University has introduced State Education Policy (SEP) in the academic year 2024-2025 which offers various specializations such as Data Science, AI and ML to make students industry-ready and provide more career opportunities.

    The department of computer application had organised Add-on Course Java Full Stack Development for the duration of 30 hours by Friends Union For Energizing Lives (FUEL).This program help students to demonstrate and deploy complete Web Application and showcase across both frond end and backend technologies.

    A course on Oracle DBA was conducted by the Department of Computer Applications in collaboration with Tech Brain Tree for the duration of 30 hours. Expertise in database concepts was gained by students. The course emphasized practical demonstrations of data retrieval techniques.

    The department conducted Web Designing event for students to enhance their coding skills. The event aimed to provide hands-on experience in creating interactive and responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

    A session on Data Visualization using Power BI was organized by the BCA department, featuring hands-on implementation with an expert trainer from the IT sector. The session focused on creating visually appealing data visualizations, developing dashboards using Power BI for a sample dataset, and providing a glimpse into Tableau and Power BI. Knowledge was gained by students through practical use of Power BI services.

    In the academic year 2023-24 three students have scored centum in operating System and 100% pass rate was secured overall.

    In our ardent desire towards holistic development of individuals, the college provides a serene and calm atmosphere to those who wish to spend some time in silence, reflection and prayer. The prayer hall is elegantly designed and wears a heavenly look to raise the mind and heart of a person.

    SPORTS AND GAMES
    The sports and games facilities at the campus make the students attain physical growth and sportsman spirit. The college has courts for major games like basketball, football, volley ball and cricket.

    The college really cares for the holistic growth of the students. Highly qualified and caring counselors are made available to speak to and advise students regularly on issues ranging from those concerned with education to those relating to the heart.

    HOSTEL FACILITY
    In view of creating a homely atmosphere and help students who come from distant places, the college provides excellent hostel facilities. Both boys and girls (hostel run by religious sisters) have separate hostels. This should make the education process of students hassle-free.
