ENVIRONMENT DAY
CELEBRATED @ ST. ANTHONY’S INSTITUTIONS, KENGERI In order to increase the awareness on
Environmental degradation, Environment Day was
organized at St. Anthony’s Institutions on 10th
October, 2012. It was organized by the Social
Action Cell of the College led by its co-ordinator
Sr. Jacintha Crasta. On a stage beautifully
decorated with plants and flowers the function
began with a prayer. Fr. Chetan, the director,
Fr. Veerus, the degree principal and Dr. B.S.
Talwadi, the P.U. principal were on the dais.
Fr. Chetan spoke on the ‘think globally and act
locally’ principle and urged the students to
begin to care for the environment in their day
today lives by keeping the college campus clean.
Dr. Talwadi paid homage to St. Francis of
Assisi, the patron of ecology. A beautiful
tableau on environment was enacted and a dance
performed by P.U.students. Ms. Sheela delivered
a speech on environment in kannada. Arun Kumar
compeered the programme and Ms. Stella Mary
proposed the vote of thanks. To culminate the
programme, the director, two principals along
with the other lecturers planted the sapling of
a Christmas tree in the college campus.
