Darshan College on Academic Excursion: Classes, Seminars, Workshops, Exams,
Industrial Visits, Interviews and what’s next?
The question what’s next received a favorable
answer: Academic Excursion to Wayanad, Kerala.
With lovely panoramic views of mountains &
plains we arrived in Sulthan Bathery to our
abode of two days Hotel Mint Flower. We
proceeded to Edakkal caves and recalled the good
olden memories of Kananda film “Edakallu guddada
mele”. Phookat lake amidst beautiful nature gave
an opportunity for boating to the students.
Through Lakkidi viewpoint we savoured the taste
of valleys and of water falls and also a glimpse
of Calicut. The students embraced the
magnificient beauty of Kuruva Island and enjoyed
to the full the springs of water. Banasura Sagar
Dam one of the largest dams of India known for
its mighty natural beauty gave another chance to
go on speed boating. On the way back home we
touched the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, Kaveri
Nisargadhama of Kushalnagar. The most
interesting interaction was with the Namdroling
Monastery of the Buddhist Monks, one of the
biggest Buddhist monasteries in India. Entering
the Golden Temple of this Monastery the students
were simply elevated to a greater height where
they could experience the calm, peace, joy and
serenity. Now that the question what’s next
transformed into a concrete living experience of
discovery of nature and of culture.
