Industrial Visits, Seminars & Workshops: Darshan
College, Kengeri Incorporation of the new skills and new
techniques into the curriculum was the dream of
Darshan College of Commerce and Management, this
was realized through the practical exposure to
the two giant industries specially of the
production of essential commodities Milk and
Sugar. Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) and
Mysore Sugars Limited (Mysugars) situated in
Mandya witnessed hundreds of enthusiastic future
entrepreneurs and executives from Darshan
College. As the Buses carried the banners of the
College on the Industrial visit, the students
manifested their inquisitive mind by asking
questions to the General Manager and to the
Production Manager on
“Production-Distribution-Consumption” “Profit &
Loss”. As an appreciation towards the quality of
the students and faculty, both the industrial
giants kept open their doors for project works
in the future.
Another mile stone as Darshan College initiated
a Seminar on “Career Guidance to the Young
Graduate Aspirants with special emphasis to
Civil Service Examinations”. The clarion
call of the new educational approach is
“learning by doing”, so that the acquisition of
the knowledge and skills through active,
self-reflective and participatory engagement
have greater impact in learning process and
prepares oneself to go beyond the concepts and
class room. The Principal, Prof. A. S. Chalam,
extended a warm welcome to IRS Officers in the
person of Prof. P. Gopakumar, IRS (C & CE), the
Deputy Commissioner, Service Tax, Ministry of
Finance, Govt. of India and Dr. Sibichen K.

Creating Financial Awareness for Young
Investors”. The brain storming session by
Prof. Hari Vasudevan motivated the commerce
