Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration at St.
Anthony’s PU College, Kengeri.
Karnataka Rajyotsava Day was celebrated by the
Anthonians of PU College on 26th November. Rev.
Fr. Alwyn Dias, the Director of St. Anthony’s
Institutions, was the President, and the well
known Kannada writer, Dr. Leelavathi Devadas was
the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Leelavathi
Devadas, who has contributed much to the Kannada
Language by writing more than 40 books, was
felicitated by the Management. She spoke on the
importance of encouraging and safeguarding
Kannada Language. Being a doctor by profession
she instilled in the minds of the students the
holistic and integrated approach towards one’s
health saying health is wealth. She also donated
her recent published books to the college
Library. Rev. Fr. Alwyn Dias praised Kannada
language and culture as it has the legacy and
heritage of welcoming and imparting values of
hospitality and solidarity. He also appreciated
Dr. Leelavathi Devadas for her work and
contribution to the Kannada Literature. The
students showcased their talents through Kannada
songs and dance. The entire programme was
organized by the Kannada Department of the
College. Hail “Kannada nadu, kannada nudi,
kannada samskrti”!
