Darshan College: INAUGURATION of NSS
17th March 2014 is a remarkable day in the history of Darshan College of Commerce and Management as the College succeeded to register and bring-in National Service Scheme (NSS) into the campus. It started off with hoisting a NSS flag by the Chief Guest Dr. Prof. Sundar Raj Urs, Secretary, National Association of Physical Education & Sports Sciences and NSS Coordinator of Karnataka, Bangalore University. Darshan students Kimy & Benjamin composed a title song for NSS. Professor Lt. Dr. Mahendra Kumar, NCC Officer of RV College of Engineering distributed not only the NSS Badges & NSS Guidelines but also invited 5 Darshan Students to join NCC in their college, his kind gesture speaks volumes for service, initiation and collaboration. Motivational Speeches were delivered by the honorable guests, by Principal Prof A. S. Chalam and by Director Fr. Alwyn Dias. All insisted on the whole hearted service to the humanity specially to the rural poor and the marginalized. The inaugural session concluded by planting of saplings in the campus. Well begun is half done, may the motto of service prevail in the hearts of Anthonians!
